Braxmere Lodge - Tokaanu

The fine floor-to-ceiling windows in the apartment offered amazing views of Lake Taupo, making for a perfect backdrop for our stay.

Unfortunately, the access to outside amenities was disappointing, with the picnic tables appearing moldy and in poor condition, detracting from potential outdoor enjoyment.

It is a top-class hotel with astonishing view down to the lake. The location is perfect and absolutely incredible, 2 miles from Tokaanu Thermal Pools...

The hotel was beautiful and modern with magnificent location just next door to the restaurant and fantastic location, activities including national park, thermal pools and Taupo and turangi and whakapapa ski mountain: )

What a disappointment, the shower was covered in black mould, and the wifi was patchy-so much for connecting with the outside world. I was expecting a room upgrade but was treated like everyone else, clearly not on the VIP list. The view was nice, but that does not excuse the dirtiness.

Really enjoyed our beautifully maintained and modern rooms in this hotel.

The room was been renovated to a lovely standard very nice firm yet comfortable beds and available with amazing views. There where a dining area, a seating area, and ironing facilities if needed.

The hotel's location was marvellous, in the centre of New Zealand with local supermarkets and a supermarket within walking distance.

The suite was clean and comfortable, just like we expected. The easy contact-free check-in made getting settled in a breeze after a long drive. I loved taking leisurely walks to Waihi Bay, which was conveniently close by for some relaxation by the water. It was a peaceful spot to disconnect and recharge, even with a few bugs around in the room.

The location is fantastic for enjoying the outdoors like skiing and snowboarding nearby. The apartments were spacious, and we loved how well-equipped everything was. The staff was attentive. It was a perfect getaway for a group vacation.

The restaurant was closed , disappointing since we wanted a cozy indoor space to hang out together while it rained.

great location by the lake, but overlooked details

The one-bedroom apartment offered ample space. The newly renovated unit had a cozy vibe, and the views of Lake Taupo from the large windows were fine. I appreciated the kitchenette amenities, particularly the microwave and large fridge, as they provided convenience .

Some outdoor amenities, like the picnic tables, seemed neglected and could use better upkeep.

Super clean place with comfy beds and amazing views right on the shores of Lake Taupo! The staff were super friendly. Totally loved the laid-back vibe here.

The view was amazing. The room was impeccably clean and spacious, improved with a generous layout that allowed for comfortable living. Unfortunately, the shared parking situation was a bit of a hassle, and the outdoor amenities seemed to lack proper maintenance . Dining choices were limited after breakfast hours, as lunch options were served later.

would definitely come back.

Loved the spacious apartment with a kitchenette, tv, and all the basics. Comfy king bed. Enjoyed the private entrance and the view from the patio. The bathroom was equipped with a walk-in shower and good toiletries. The place had everything we needed, and the cozy atmosphere was great for relaxation.

My kids wished for more onsite activities to keep them entertained.
